Edgar Garcia

“from Proserpine’s thigh”

Edgar Garcia is a poet whose work was once described as a blend of “some Pound, Browning and Donne, with a dash of Bolivar.” Let the reader decide if they can stomach such a mix. The current poem project treats the universe in small bits (specifically about one human across the Atlantic, taking necessary account of the polygon between the Americas, Europe, Africa, and upward into Outer Space). He is at work on an English Ph.D. at Yale University.

Works include Swevynes and their Songs: Studies and Translations, Seven Ways of Looking at a Friend, Summer Letters, Bolivar: A Mytho-Economic Mini-Epic of the Americas, Marvin’s Winter Song of Love in the Spring for Martha, and now Mayan Texts: A Galactic Birth Canal.
